• Responsible for getting to know residents’ interests and needs providing attention, support and companionship; assisting and enables service users to dress, undress, wash, use the toilet and bathe; serving meals to service users at table or in bed.
• assists with feeding if required
• generally assists with service users overall comfort and wellbeing;
• providing interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user;
• helping with daily activities such as letter writing;
• promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible;
• monitoring service users conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contributes to record keeping;
• liaising with professional staff in carrying out care plans;
• sustaining high level of communication between resident’s family and staff, developing & maintaining good relationships;
• assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home;
• contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fetac Level 5 is essential
• Experience is essential
